Bayer

Racumin® Foam with Coumatetralyl is an anticoagulant contact rodenticide for indoor use, against brown rats (Rattus norvegicus)
and house mice (Mus musculus), in holes and covered tracks, wall cavities and places inaccessible to livestock,
children and non-target species. When contact is made the foam sticks to the rodent’s fur when it passes

Active substance: coumatetralyl  0.4 % w/w
Formulations: foam
Shelf life (years): 2 years
Use against: rats, mice

Racumin® Foam is a ready to use foam aerosol rodenticide containing 0.4% w/w Coumatetralyl, for the control of brown rats and house mice, indoors.

Racumin® Foam is an anticoagulant contact rodenticide for indoor use, against brown rats (Rattus norvegicus)
and house mice (Mus musculus), in holes and covered tracks, wall cavities and places inaccessible to livestock,
children and non-target species. When contact is made the foam sticks to the rodent’s fur when it passes
through a treated passage and the rodenticide is ingested during grooming. Racumin® Foam is used primarily as
a supporting measure during normal bait application when there are conditions of high air humidity, attractive
alternative feed sources or with bait rejection/shyness.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Carry out a pre-baiting survey of the infested area and an on-site assessment in order to identify the rodent
species, their places of activity and determine the likely cause and the extent of the infestation.
Remove food which is readily attainable for rodents(e.g. spilled grain or food waste). Apart from this do not clean
up the infested area just before treatment, as this will disturb the rodent population and make bait acceptance
more difficult to achieve.
Place the product out of reach of children, birds, pets and farm animals and other non-target animals.
Place the product away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs, as well as from utensils or surfaces that
have contact with these.
The product should be placed in the immediate vicinity of places where rodent activity has previously occurred
(e.g. rodent runs, nesting sites, holes, burrows etc.)
This product should only be used as part of an integrated pest management (IPM) system, including hygiene
measures and physical methods of control where possible.
Racumin® Foam must NOT be used as a tracking product.
When the product is used in public areas, the areas treated must be marked during the treatment period and a
notice explaining the risk of primary or secondary poisoning by the anticoagulant as well as indicating the first
measures to be taken in the case of poisoning, must be made available alongside the treatment.
Areas where foam is applied should be clearly marked to show that they contain rodenticides and that they
should not be disturbed.
Bring can to room temperature and shake vigorously until the mixing ball rattles. Attach dispensing tube and
press button to release foam.
Apply at least 2 m from places where food and animal feeding stuffs are stored, prepared and eaten when
biocidal product are used.

APPLICATION
Indoors
For Rats: Apply 20-30 g of Racumin® Foam per hole or passageway (foam the size of half a brick).
For Mice: Apply 4 g (foam the size of a tennis ball) – 30 g of Racumin® Foam per hole or passageway.
This quantity can be applied as a single application or as a number of small applications along the track.
The hole should not be completely filled with foam so that the animals still recognise their usual roads and
passages. If the hole is completely filled with foam, the animals can hesitate to pass.
The released foam usually lasts for 7-12 days, depending on disturbance and temperature/humidity.
Two applications per treatment campaign are recommended.
Anticoagulant rodenticides take from 4 to 10 days to be effective after consumption, due to their delayed mode
of action.

CLEANING
Do not apply to surfaces likely to stain – perform a patch test if necessary.
Foam residues should we wiped away with a dry disposable towel.

FOLLOW UP AND DISPOSAL
The frequency of visits to the treated area should be at the discretion of the operator, based on the survey
conducted at the outset of the treatment. This should be consistent with the recommendations provided by the
CRRU code of Best Practice (or equivalent).
Search for and remove dead rodents at frequent intervals during treatment.
Rodents can be disease carriers. Do not touch dead rodents with bare hands, use gloves or use tools such as
tongs when disposing of them.
Dispose of rodents in accordance with local requirements.
Poisoned rodents may be disposed of by the waste producer at an incinerator or landfill permitted to accept that
type of waste, or collected by a registered waste carrier and taken for disposal at a suitably permitted site. For
information on disposal in the UK contact the Environment Agency (http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk) or
SEPA (http://www.sepa.org.uk).
At the end of the treatment, remove and dispose of foam as well as the packaging and dead rodents in accordance
with local requirements in order to prevent primary and secondary poisoning. Use of gloves is recommended.
Prevent skin contact when disposing remains of foam
Control should be achieved within 35 days.
If after a treatment period of 35 days baits continue to be consumed and no decline in rodent activity is observed,
the likely cause must be determined. Where other elements have been excluded, it is likely that there are
resistant rodents so consider the use of a non-anticoagulant rodenticide, where available, or a more potent
anticoagulant rodenticide. Also consider the use of traps as an alternative control measure.
Do not empty into drains.
Prevent the product, residues and empty containers from entering bodies of water.

SAFETY INFORMATION
Where possible, prior to treatment inform any bystanders about the rodent control campaign.
Prior to the rodent control measures all users of the premises and buildings and surroundings, where the foam is
placed, have to be informed about the risks for humans, pets and wild animals. They have to be informed about
measures in the case of poisoning, misapplication of the foam or discovery of dead rodents.
Wear protective chemical resistant gloves during product handling phase.
Wear eye protection.
When using the product do not eat, smoke or drink. Wash hands and directly exposed skin after using the
product.
Harmful to wildlife.
Prevent access to foam by children, birds, domesticated animals and pets (particularly cats, dogs and pigs).
Avoid any unnecessary contact with the product particularly avoid ingestion.
When placing close to water drainage systems, ensure that contact with water is avoided.
Do not use this product permanently for the prevention of rodent infestation or monitory rodent activities.
Do not use this product in pulsed baiting treatments.
The product shall only be used under exceptional circumstances if non-chemical control and conventional bait
formulations are considered not to be efficient.
This foam shall only be used indoors and in places that are not accessible to children or non-target animals.
Treated areas in buildings must be secured to prevent access of children and pets.
This product contains a bittering agent and dye.

STORAGE
Store in a dry, cool and well ventilated place. Keep the container tightly closed and away from direct sunlight.
Store in places prevented from access of children, birds, pets and farm animals.
Shelf life: 48 months.

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT
Do not use in areas where resistance to the active substance is suspected.
Do not rotate the use of different anticoagulants with comparable or weaker potency for resistance management
purposes. For rotational use, consider using a non-anticoagulant rodenticide, if available or a more potent
anticoagulant.

FIRST AID
This product contains an anticoagulant substance. If ingested, symptoms, which may be delayed and develop
over a course of several days, may include nosebleeds or bleeding gums. In severe cases, there may be bruising
and blood present in the faeces or urine.
General: In case of accident, suspected exposure or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show
the label where possible).
Skin Exposure: Wash skin with water and then with water and soap. Launder any contaminated clothing.
Eye Exposure: Remove contact lenses. Rinse eyes with eye-rinse liquid or water, keep eyes lids open at least
